Abuse or a creative way to educate a child?

Russell Frederick, a barber from Georgia in the United States, was tired of receiving complaints from his son's teachers - and he decided to punish him in an unconventional way.

Frederick took his son to the barbershop he owned and told him in a ridiculous way: "I threatened my son that if he continued to go wild, I would also continue to go wild with the haircuts I gave him," the father was quoted as saying in the media.

The boy's haircut resembles an old man suffering from frostbite, and is unflattering, to say the least, to a young child.

The father added: "These days you can't hit your children to educate them, for fear that the police and law enforcement will intervene. I don't hit my children, so I had to find a creative way to educate them. This is the path I chose.".

And was the education series useful?

Frederick emphasizes that this is definitely the case: "My son's grades have improved significantly since I punished him like this, he just doesn't want me to tell him off like this again.".

The poor boy's story quickly became known, and Frederick says that since then he has received many requests from parents asking him to tell their child in a similar way, in order to improve their behavior.
