Lars Login's friend, the Norwegian who was walking with him on the lake shore, never imagined that in a few seconds Login would take off his shirt and jump into the icy river water to rescue a duck that had lost its way on the ice surface.

What not to do for 'animal cruelty'? A brave Norwegian named Lars Login, 33, noticed a duck that had fallen into a frozen river, and jumped into the water to save it.

The duck, which was swimming in the water, climbed onto the ice surface that covered the lake, and when it tried to return to the water, it lost its way and was in danger of freezing.

Loggin, who was hiking in the area, spotted the duck and jumped onto the ice, breaking through the icebergs that separated him from the duck. "I felt like it was the right thing to do," Loggin said.

A friend who was with him rushed to film the event and said: "I was a little paralyzed when I saw Lars jump into the frozen river.".
