US President Donald Trump announced this evening (Tuesday) that the crash of the American Apache helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz was caused by Iranian fire.
The President tweeted: "I have just been informed by our great military that last night the Iranians shot down one of our most sophisticated Apache helicopters while it was patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz. There were two pilots on board, both safe and unharmed.".
""However, the United States must, by necessity, respond to this attack. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
Political commentator Amit Segal responded: "I'm a little confused: after all, just two days ago Trump demanded that Israel not respond to Iran because there were no casualties. Why respond now?""
Iran is returning fire.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Qalibaf clarified: "We prefer the language of diplomacy, but we are much better at other languages. If you violate your commitments, we will switch to the language we know how to speak best. You will bear the consequences of your actions.".
Spokesman for the National Security Committee in the Iranian Parliament, Ebrahim Rezaei: "We kiss the hands of that fighter who shot down an American helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz, and dealt another slap in the face to Satan. We will honor him as a hero.""
