United States President Donald Trump said last night (Tuesday), in an interview with ABC, that he is not sure whether Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will run again in the Israeli elections.
""That's an open question," Trump said. "I don't know. He's had an incredible career. Does he want to continue? He's a wartime prime minister. We're going to win the war very soon, one way or another.".
The Likud Party responded this morning in an official statement to Trump's statements: "Prime Minister Netanyahu will run in the upcoming elections - and with God's help, he will win.".
Economy Minister Nir Barkat of the Likud party commented on the matter in an interview with Reshet B, saying: "I don't know Trump's statement regarding Netanyahu's candidacy. We are preparing for the elections and we have a few things to complete.
""The relationship between President Trump and Netanyahu is unprecedented. President Trump has different statements, but the cooperation between the two countries is unprecedented. We have turned Iran from a nuclear brinkman into a paper tiger. Everyone is looking at this relationship - and is very jealous.".
