Yaakov Wider, a member of the Bnei Brak City Council, appealed to Mayor Hanoch Seibert, demanding that the collection of security taxes be immediately stopped.
This is due to discrepancies that he claims were discovered between the minutes of the council meeting and the video recording of the city council meeting.
Wieder claims that the entire procedure is flawed and that the vote of council members is different from that which appears in the minutes, and therefore the results of the vote cannot be relied upon for the purpose of collecting funds from the public.
In his letter, Vider demanded that the collection be immediately stopped, as well as to return funds that had already been collected based on the decision.
Wieder added that the case once again strengthens his demand for "a live broadcast to the public of all council meetings and committee discussions, as is the case in all municipalities, and raises concerns that it is not for nothing that municipal officials are strongly opposed to this.".
In his appeal, Vider demanded to receive answers within 72 hours, and made it clear that the lack of a substantive response would lead to the intervention of enforcement agencies.
