Yaakov Wider, a member of the Bnei Brak City Council from the Likud faction, made an official request to Mayor Hanoch Seibert, demanding that he reveal the details of all his flights and numerous outings abroad since the beginning of his term - including the identity of the parties who financed the flights, the purposes of the trips, the permits they were given, and their actual contribution to the city of Bnei Brak.
On Thursday, we salute national-civilian service personnel from Haredi society: Want to participate?
Wider: "The mayor's long and puzzling stay outside Israel requires an investigation. Are these personal trips funded by private parties? If there is a conflict of interest, is there legal approval for this and who approved it?""
He said, "Apart from the fact that the mayor, who receives a salary from the public, should be here and not abroad on long and mysterious stays, the mayor and his office control huge sums of billions of shekels that belong to the public, and an explanation must be given to residents as to whether unknown factors financed flights and stays abroad for foreign purposes.".
Vider demands that all relevant approvals, reports, and conflict of interest declarations be received within 14 days – in accordance with the provisions of the law and legal and administrative guidelines.
It should be noted that last night, the city council meeting that was scheduled to convene was canceled at the last minute, due to the mayor's long stay abroad.
