The three abductees, whose names and photos are already familiar to everyone in Israel, are Gil-Ad Sha'er, 16, from Talmon, a student at the Mekor Chaim yeshiva in Kfar Etzion; Naftali Frankel, 16, a resident of Nof Ayalon, also from the Mekor Chaim yeshiva; and Eyal Yifrach, 19, a resident of Elad, who studied at the Shavei yeshiva in Hebron.

Yeshiva Mekor Chaim is considered one of the best high school yeshiva in the country, and is presided over by Rabbi Adin Even Israel (Steinsaltz). The yeshiva is headed by Rabbi Dov Singer and his deputy is Rabbi David Rabinowitz. The yeshiva is part of the Mekor Chaim institutions headed by Rabbi Steinsaltz, and its number of students is approximately 300 students.

The third abductee, Eyal Yifrach, studied at the Shavei Hebron Yeshiva. This yeshiva is located in Beit Romano in Hebron and is a religious Zionist yeshiva. The yeshiva was established in 1980, after the murder of six young men on Shabbat night at Beit Hadassah. Rabbi Avinoam Horvitz, then a young yeshiva student, organized a group of students from the Merkaz HaRav Yeshiva in Jerusalem to establish a yeshiva in Hebron. The yeshiva was established in 1982, by Rabbi Moshe Bleicher, with a group of ten students, and began its journey at Beit Hadassah.

In the margins of the story of those kidnapped from the yeshiva, the story of another student, the son of the secretary general of the Bnei Akiva movement, was published tonight, who planned to board the "hitchhiker" with his friends. His father told a Ynet reporter today that his son decided at the last minute to stay a little longer at the yeshiva and said goodbye to his friends. "He is doing well now, he gathers himself and prays.".

According to him, the yeshiva is very organized when it comes to travel. "No one can leave the yeshiva without parental permission, there is a strict prohibition on hitchhiking outside the community. We are very strict about this with the students, we talk to them, both we, the parents, and the yeshiva.".

On the other hand, Hirschberg admits that sometimes students are forced to hitchhike, since there is not always organized public transportation in the area. "I think that at this time when we are all anxious and praying for their safety, we should not be concerned with the issue of hitchhiking and travel, but with the situation we are in - the impossible reality of our lives. There are roads with no regular transportation, and in the settlements themselves there are only one or two buses a day. The concern should be with the safety of citizens and not the way they behave. They behave in a reasonable, logical manner, and perhaps it is impossible or unreasonable to behave differently. We all need to exercise extra caution, extra attention, but the question that needs to be asked is not about the kidnapped, but about the kidnappers.".

Gilad is very responsible.

Naftali Frankel's uncle, Yishai Frankel, said today: "We had a difficult, very tense family Shabbat. We are optimistic, hoping for the best. It is very important for us to express our gratitude, first and foremost, to the security forces. We receive a lot of support from the people of Israel, we greatly appreciate it and it helps us greatly.".

Journalist Emily Amroussi, who knows the Shaar family well, told Channel 7: "Only someone who has children can understand this feeling, a feeling of uncertainty. I have known Gilad personally for many years. Gilad is very responsible. He calls his mother and tells her about everything he does. For the first two years, the parents took the child back and forth to and from yeshiva.".

The director of the municipal hotline in Elad, Efi Stern, told Kol Haredi today: "The Yifrach family, a modest and reserved family, were confined to their home all Shabbat except for morning prayers.".
