The Mediterranean Series:
Recanati Marselan Reserve 2012
Marselan is a hybrid of the Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties, and originated in the early 1960s in southern France. It is an exceptionally high-quality variety designed to combine the qualities of noble Cabernet with wild Grenache, which is produced for the first time in Israel as a varietal wine. The wine was aged for about a year in new French barrels from Burgundy and bottled after coarse filtration only. It presents an interesting combination of Middle Eastern aromas and flavors of strawberry, young plum, mint and a touch of lime. Only 3,850 bottles of the wine were produced. Price: 149 NIS.
Recanati Petite Sirah Reserve 2012
100% This variety originates from the Petite Sirah vineyard in the Jezreel Valley, which was planted in 1982 and has some of the oldest vines in our country. The wine was aged for one year in new French oak barrels, bottled without any shading processes and after only coarse filtration.
From its beginning, this wine also contained a few percent of the Zinfandel variety, and after several years in which the amount of Zinfandel in the blend decreased, this year it was completely removed from this variety. The Petite Sirah Reserve 2012 is juicy and intensely flavorful, rich in a deep bluish purple color, and with flavors and aromas in shades of berries and chocolate, spices and pecans. Price: 119 NIS.
Recanati Carignan Wild Reserve 2012
The 2012 edition of one of the winery's most popular wines. This wine's grapes originate from a vineyard in the Judean Mountains where the vines are not irrigated at all, developing deep roots that cause their fruit to be unique and intensely flavored. The wine was aged in new oak barrels for only ten months, so that the oak flavors and aromas would not overpower the unique fruit flavors and aromas - black plum, ripe berries and hints of toasted brioche. The wine is bottled after only coarse filtration and is presented as it is, a wild, rooted Israeli land. Only 5,490 bottles of the wine were produced. Recommended retail price: 149 NIS.
