About two weeks ago, the 'Philae' lander made history when it became the first man-made object to land on a comet. • The images ended up in the hands of a photographer who decided to create a graphic photograph that would simulate the comet's landing on California.

The frightening image presented is not science fiction: this is exactly what the encounter between a comet and Earth, or more precisely between the comet and the city of Los Angeles in the United States, would look like if it deviated from its orbit.

About two weeks ago, after about twenty-five years of attempts to land on a comet, humanity took another historic step forward: the Philae lander landed on Comet 67P - Churyumov-Gerasimenko, becoming the first man-made object to land on a comet.

''Philae' was released from the Rosetta probe, moved slowly towards the comet, and managed to land on it safely, sending images back to Earth.

The images received by the European Space Agency taught us quite a bit about the comet, its shape, and its trajectory. They later reached the hands of photographer Matt Wang, who decided to create a graphic photograph that would allow us to capture the comet's proportions in relation to the Earth. Wand's complex image depicts its precise landing on the large city in California, which is, it must be said, unexpected, according to the upcoming forecasts.

According to the data provided, the comet has an orbital period of 6.44 years. Its rotation period is around 12.4 hours, and it travels a distance of 135,000 kilometers per hour.
