The United States is burning: Particularly violent protests took place on Saturday in a long line of cities across the United States following the death of George Floyd, a black man who was choked to death by a police officer last week during an arrest in the city of Minneapolis.
The incident, which was captured on video, led to severe riots across the country.
Curfews have been imposed by governors in 16 states in 25 major cities across the United States, in an effort to prevent the riots from continuing into the night. Among the cities where curfews have been imposed are major cities such as Miami, Atlanta and Los Angeles.
In nine states, governors requested the National Guard's assistance in controlling the riots. In Washington, the National Guard increased security at the White House.
According to media reports, from Thursday to today, approximately 1,400 people have been arrested in demonstrations held in 17 cities.
Among the stores looted by the rioters or set on fire were also Jewish stores. For example, a Jewish-owned hat store in Los Angeles was vandalized and looted.

Although a lockdown has not been imposed in New York, the ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods in Brooklyn are not taking any risks: the Crown Heights Security Company has informed community members in the neighborhood that they should avoid going outside unless necessary, and be vigilant to avoid encountering violent groups on the streets.
''Smiria' has refined a number of rules for the neighborhood's residents, including: only go out in groups if necessary, and in the event of leaving the neighborhood, follow news updates regarding violent demonstrations and their location, and stay away from those areas.
""Due to the situation, police response to incidents may be slower than usual," they added. "Avoid going to 'hot spots'.".
The order by the "Protect" organization came after two African-American nurses were arrested during a demonstration in Crown Heights on Saturday night after throwing a Molotov cocktail at a police car carrying four officers. The officers were not injured because the cocktail did not ignite.
