The operation arrested a number of wanted individuals who had escaped from security forces for a period of time. The security establishment says that the wanted individuals who were arrested had planned, over the past few months, to carry out attacks on behalf of Hamas against Israeli civilians and IDF forces in Judea and Samaria. The senior wanted individual who was arrested is Alaa al-Din Bitawi, a resident of Jenin, one of the Hamas leaders in the camp. Several other wanted individuals who were involved in terrorist activity in Jenin were arrested with him. During their arrest, a gun was seized and several charges were located that were destroyed by forces in the field. The wanted individuals were transferred to the Shin Bet for further investigation. The security forces are continuing the operation in northern Samaria.
