Earlier this evening, a two-year-old toddler choked while eating a pretzel in a public garden in Jerusalem.
The rescue workers who were called to the scene managed to extract the pretzel that was choking her from her windpipe - and miraculously, her heart started beating again.
Yossi Roth, Gershon Ginouar and David Bornstein, United Hatzalah paramedics: "We arrived at the scene and encountered a nurse performing massages on a girl, who, according to passersby, had choked on a pretzel. During the rapid treatment we performed on the girl, while suctioning the secretions (section), the piece of pretzel that caused her to choke was removed from her trachea and, miraculously, her heart started beating again.
""She was then evacuated in an intensive care unit to continue receiving medical treatment at the hospital in stable condition. There is no doubt that the rapid arrival of the paramedics who arrived with the United Hatzalah resuscitation kits and the quick action of the nurse who encountered the incident - while she was in the garden - helped save the girl's life.".
