The ZAKA 360 hotline received a report of a 60-year-old man who was found lifeless and in an advanced state of decomposition in his home on David Baruch Street in Lod - after no contact had been made with him for a week.
Moshe Eliyahu Ezra, a ZAKA 360 ambulance driver who treated the scene, said: "This is a complex and difficult incident. When I arrived at the scene, I smelled a pungent odor, and it was reported that after about a week in which no contact was made with the deceased, a burglar was called to the apartment and located him in his home.
""Together with other volunteers, we worked at the scene to treat the deceased with dignity and collect the findings. After the treatment and in coordination with all relevant parties, the deceased was released for burial directly from his home.".
""His body was transported via ZAKA 360 ambulance for further funeral and burial procedures at the new cemetery in Lod.""
