''If there is no bread, eat cakes,' said Marie Antoinette, and as a paraphrase of this sentence, the Kurds and Yazidis fighting ISIS say: 'If there are no tanks, we will fight with cars.'.

The American website 'Artillery' features photos of Kurdish vehicles that have been transformed into armored and decorated tanks. Among the vehicles are farm vehicles and tractors with steel arms welded to them, forming a kind of homemade tank.

However, the aforementioned 'Artillery' website is under the impression that these vehicles will not be able to withstand a long-term war against the relatively advanced weapons of the Islamic State - ISIS. In their opinion, this is a 'waste of time and effort', although the vehicles could be used as ambulances on the battlefield.
