The quadruplets born to David and Rivka Biton, an ultra-Orthodox couple from Modi'in Illit whose story touched many, were released to the family home - after a period of observation and treatment in the hospital.
The case is considered particularly rare, after the couple had their first set of quadruplets about three years ago – and then, like this time, the pregnancy and birth occurred completely naturally.
Of the first quadruplets born to the family, two of the babies did not survive. Despite the loss and pain, the parents chose to move forward and gave birth to two more children - and now another quadruplet.
Moshe Yosef Brin, the brother in charge of the delivery rooms, told Channel 14 that despite many years of experience, the birth of a second set of quadruplets to the same parents is an extremely rare event, which does not seem to be a routine occurrence.
Today, the four babies were reunited with the rest of the family, who welcomed them with excitement after a period of complex medical care at Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital.
The farewell from the hospital was particularly moving, as the medical teams also said goodbye to the family that managed to touch the hearts of the entire department.
