To dip the biscuit in the cup of tea or not to dip it? That's the million-dollar question. There's nothing like drinking a cup of hot tea with a cookie on a cold winter day, but also tasting the cloudy tea with substances that fell from the cookies during their dipping in the last sips - it's not a pleasant feeling.
These days, Andrew Tinsley has solved this age-old problem with a new invention: a mesh pocket called a 'cookie catcher' that allows you to dip the cookie in a cup of tea without crumbs falling to the bottom of the cup.
The mesh pocket has a small string attached to it which can be used to lift this little contraption. 'This cheap and cheerful gadget will ensure that drinkers are not left with a 'pile of mud' at the bottom of their glass,' the inventor told the Daily Express website.
Tinsley is an entrepreneur, a father of two who got the idea from watching his family struggle with dipping a cookie in a cup of tea. "My brother dipped his cookie for too long until it slipped out of his hand and sank into the cup," Andrew said. "Everyone told him he should have invented something to catch the crumbs from the cookie. I'm an entrepreneur and I took the idea one step further.".
Andrew launched the new product about two weeks ago and has so far managed to sell about 600 units at a price of 2 pounds sterling per unit.
