In these days, fifty-six years ago, the Six-Day War broke out, which ended in a miraculous and overwhelming victory, in which precious parts of the Land of Israel, primarily Ancient Jerusalem, were returned to the people of Israel.
The achievements of the war created an entirely new reality. Israel within its pre-1967 borders appeared to our enemies as easy prey, to be overpowered and defeated at the right moment. The Syrians sat on the Golan Heights and threatened the entire north. The territories of Judea and Samaria were in Jordan's hands, and the distance from the border to the sea was in some places only a few kilometers. In the south, the Egyptian army was preparing for war.
And suddenly the small country became a regional power. Control over Judea and Samaria, the Golan Heights, and Sinai gave us security spaces and extremely important strategic assets. The Arab world realized that it could not defeat us through war. And then a new campaign began – the campaign for consciousness.
Tools to fight lies
We are in the midst of a war for which we are inadequately prepared. It is being waged in the global media, on campuses, in international institutions, and on social media. It is a war for justice and truth, against the evil and distortion that our enemies cultivate.
Since then, to this day, the Arabs have been spreading the lie that the 'poor' Arabs have lived here forever, and suddenly the 'occupying' Jews appeared, expelled the unfortunate inhabitants of the land, and took over their lands.
In this battle for consciousness, we find ourselves in full mobilization. The historical lie is being propagated by all the systems of our enemies – education, the media, academia, PA offices, mosques, etc. They have long since moved to an even more advanced stage – denying any Jewish connection to this land, to the point of denying the existence of the Temple in Jerusalem.
And what about us? Are we giving our children and our citizens the tools to fight this war? Does a Jewish child in a state school know the facts? Has he been taught what our claim to the land is based on?
It is unnecessary to ask what the position of the media, academia, art, and cultural institutions is on this question.
The land was waiting for us.
All historical sources refute the Arab lie. The country was almost deserted for centuries. It had a very sparse Arab population, and it too underwent changes. In the first centuries of the Ottoman period, many areas – in the valleys, the coastal plain, and the Negev – were sparsely populated or uninhabited at all. The increase in the number of Arab residents began in the 19th century, due to immigration from neighboring countries.
Arabs began immigrating to the country at the same time as the Jewish immigration. They are not natives of the country, but immigrants from Egypt and Syria, Iraq and Algeria, etc. During the British rule, the number of Arabs doubled, due to the authorities' immigration policy.
And we returned to our homeland, where our ancestors lived; where David and Solomon reigned; where the First and Second Temples stood in Jerusalem for more than eight hundred years; the land where even when we were exiled from it, Jewish continuity was still preserved.
The source of our right to the land is the Book of Books, the Bible, which even non-Jews hold sacred. The Creator of the world gave the land to his people, and chose to establish his abode in the Temple, on Mount Moriah, Jerusalem. This is the truth and there is no doubt about it!
