Roy Idan, an Israeli screenwriter, television actor, presenter, and the man behind the drama series 'Manayyich,' told in an interview he gave to Yedioth Ahronoth about a phone conversation he had in the past with Naftali Bennett, when he served as Minister of Education.

Idan, considered a prominent right-wing artist, recalls: "Those were the days of the religious panic and Naftali Bennett was then the Minister of Education and the loathsome soul of the secular left. I am a generic parent of two girls in the Tel Aviv education system and am friends with him. My eldest daughter was in second or third grade at the time and I asked her, 'Tell me, have you learned what the four species are?' The answer I got was, 'Yes, Dad. Etrog, Arava and Kaslo.'.

""I picked up the phone to the Minister of Education and told him about the scandal. His response was: 'Be thankful she didn't say Etrog, Arava, and Transgender.' That's how he pulled it off. It was impressive.".

Idan was asked what the conclusion was - and replied: "That Bennett must have a sense of humor if this is the government he formed. I voted for Bennett in his various incarnations. But something very bad happened to him. This man is a crook, he took a crazy gamble that clearly couldn't work. His government is doomed to failure. You can't really form a government like that in Israel in 2022. Maybe in 2222.".

Idan claims that Bennett violated everything he ever said: "Leave the election promises. He violated everything he ever said in a personal conversation. This is a man whose entire essence has changed. You see that he has undergone some kind of metamorphosis. He is a different person. You look at him and say, 'Who was the person we knew all these years?' I feel like a victim of him. A victim of deception.".

According to him, "With Shaked it's even worse. Because I knew there was a hint of deceit in Bennett.".

Can Netanyahu be prime minister again? He was asked.

Idan: "Sure. And soon. Don't want Bibi? Bring someone else in his place. But that's our real problem: there is none.".
