It was reported in Iran today (Monday) that there is evidence linking Israel to the assassination of the "father of the Iranian nuclear program," Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.
According to the report on the Iranian Al-Alam channel, evidence has been collected proving Israel's connection to the assassination operation, and that Israel recruited activists from Iran who oppose the activities of the Revolutionary Guards.
The source of the news hinted that local elements hostile to the Islamic regime always play a logistical role in Israel's assassination operations.
The source also claimed that "the weapons of the assassins were Israeli-made and were controlled remotely by satellite.".
Yesterday, the Fars News Agency, which is close to the Revolutionary Guards, published new details about the assassination, according to which the operation lasted about three minutes. According to the report, the shooting was carried out using an automatic weapon from a distance - and no traces of the assassins were found in the area.
The Iranian defense minister threatened last night, at the nuclear scientist's funeral in Tehran: "No terrorist act or stupid act will go unpunished, and the perpetrators will be punished." He added that the assassination had strengthened their decision to continue with the nuclear program.
""Tehran's response to the assassination will be a severe punishment for whoever carried it out," Khatami threatened. "The military option was on the table of our enemies for 40 years, but now it is under the table.".
The Iranian Defense Minister emphasized: "We will pursue the perpetrators to the end. They should know that they will be held accountable - and this is by order of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.".
