President of the Council of Elders: "There is no doubt that they have a high place in heaven""

The president of the Shas Council of Torah Sages and the head of the Porat Yosef yeshiva, Rabbi Shalom Cohen, addressed this evening (Monday) the difficult news of finding the bodies of the three kidnapped boys - Eyal Yifrach, Naftali Frankel and Gil-Ad Shaar - whose bodies were found near Halhul after 19 days of searching. In a conversation with his associates, the president of the Council of Sages added: "The Holy One, blessed be He, has different ways of sanctifying His name in the world. If the verse 'I will sanctify among my relatives' were fulfilled in these young men, there is no doubt that they have a high place in heaven.". גם הגראי"ל שטיינמן התבטא הערב, כאשר נודע לו על הבשורה המרה של מציאת גופות הנערים החטופים: "אוי וויי.. אוי! אה… אשרעקליכע זאך… (- דבר מפחיד)". על התפילות אמר: "עס גייט נישט אוועק, סי גייט פאר אנדערע זאככין… (-זה לא הולך, וזה מועיל בשביל דברים אחרים. וכן כל החיזוק העצום שנתחזקו כל המון בית ישראל - בודאי הועיל). הגר"ח הגיב: "הייתה להם זכות גדולה מאד, אלפי יהודים התחזקו במצוות בגללם". הגר"ח הוסיף ואמר כי התפילות לא היו לשווא: "זו זכות לנשמתם".
