Against the backdrop of the dramatic development in the investigation: The family of the late Shelly Dadon, who was murdered about two months ago, are demanding that the act be declared a terrorist attack.
At a press conference held this morning outside their home in Afula, the father, Yaakov, said, "I ask all parties - the Shin Bet and the police - to continue investigating this issue and if the gag order needs to be extended further, then do so to determine that my daughter was murdered on nationalistic grounds. My daughter was brutally murdered in a premeditated murder. I will not accept anything else. Just as they destroy a terrorist's house, our house was destroyed and they destroyed our souls.".
During the press conference, the mother, Ilana, burst into tears and said: "They took away the most precious thing in the world from me.".
The letter: Even before the gag order expires
The family members are sending a letter today to Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovich, Chief of Staff Yohanan Danino, Shin Bet Chief Yoram Cohen, and Northern District Commander Zohar Dvir, through their lawyer Amir Bar Dayan.
The letter states: "Even before the publication ban expires, the family of the late Shelly Dadon, led by her parents, Yaakov and Ilana, demand that the heads of the police, the Shin Bet, and the Minister of Public Security publicly announce that the background and motive for the heinous murder is nationalist.".
""The Dadon family thanks the investigation team of the General Security Service and the Northern District of the Police for days and nights of intensive investigative activity. However, you are asked to preserve the honor of the late Shelly Dadon, who was brutally murdered in a planned and violent murder that caused shock throughout the country, and are asked to declare this murder a terrorist attack for all intents and purposes.".
The letter comes against the backdrop of updates provided to the family by the Commissioner last week, and they also claim they learned that in the coming days they will be allowed to publish the full details of the investigation. At the moment, a publication ban is still in place on the investigation.
Shelly Dadon, the late, left her home in Afula about two months ago, on her way to a job interview in Migdal HaEmek. In the afternoon, a police patrol that passed by the area found her body lying in the Ramat Gavriel industrial area, with stab wounds on it, and called large forces to the scene.
