Chabad follower escapes fire: Jumps from second floor - and is evacuated in critical condition

A 40-year-old Chabad follower was seriously injured as a result of a fire that broke out in a building in Kiryat Malachi: he jumped from a height and was taken to the hospital suffering from bruises and burns all over his body.

חסיד חב"ד בן 40 נפצע קשה כתוצאה משריפה שפרצה בבניין ברחוב אריה צימוקי בקריית מלאכי. האיש נפצע קשה לאחר שקפץ מגובה, עקב שריפה שפרצה בבניין בו הוא מתגורר. חובשים המתנדבים בארגון איחוד הצלה סניף קרית מלאכי העניקו לו טיפול רפואי ראשוני, והוא פונה, כשהוא סובל מחבלות וכוויות בכל חלקי גופו, באמצעות אמבולנס מד"א לבית החולים. צוותי כיבוי גדולים פעלו במקום לכיבוי הדליקה ולבדיקת נסיבות פרוץ הדליקה.
Meni Azriel, head of the Ihud Hatzala branch in Kiryat Malachi: ""Citizens told us that an explosion was heard and then the man, who was badly burned, jumped from a height, apparently due to the fire and the inability to leave the apartment.
 
""As a result of the smoke and fire, he was forced to jump out of the window. After initial treatment we provided him at the scene, he was taken to the hospital in serious condition.".
His name for prayer: Menachem Mendel ben Margalit.
