Proceedings against the Safed murderer discontinued: Sent to forced hospitalization

 The murder in the Makrok synagogue near Safed: Legal proceedings against the murderer were discontinued.

The Nazareth District Court announced today that legal proceedings against Avraham Bello, the suspect in the murder of the late Tuvia Rob, have been terminated. This is because he was found unfit to stand trial and was sent to forced hospitalization.

The decision was made by the Vice President of the Court, Tawfik Katili.

על פי המתואר בכתב האישום, ביום 13.4.14 סמוך לשעה 9:00, הגיע הנאשם לבית הכנסת 'מקארוב' השוכן ברחוב בר יוחאי 37, בצפת , כשבכליו סכין קומנדו שאורך הלהב שלו כ-18 ס"מ. באותו הזמן המנוח טוני (טוביה) רוז ז"ל, תושב העיר בן 49, שהה בבית הכנסת. הנאשם נכנס לבית הכנסת, ניגש לעבר מרפסת בית הכנסת ופגש במנוח, ומבלי שקדמה לכך התגרות מצד המנוח, התנפל הנאשם על המנוח, לפת את צווארו בידיו וניסה לחונקו. המנוח ניסה להיאבק בנאשם וניסה להדוף אותו מעליו, אך הנאשם התגבר עליו והפילו על גבו לרצפת מרפסת בית הכנסת. בעוד המנוח שוכב על הרצפה, רכן הנאשם מעליו, הכה אותו מספר מכות בידיו, שלף את הסכין ודקר את המנוח באמצעות הסכין 17 פעמים, בין היתר, בחזהו, בגבו, בצווארו ובזרועו הימנית וגרם למותו של המנוח.

The late Tuvia Rob, 49 years old, was a well-known beggar in the area, and according to his acquaintances, he was not a quarrelsome person.
