The left liked it. Others not so much.
""Incitement, murder, savagery, vileness" - these were some of the opposing reactions.
""Artistic freedom" - was the counter-statement.
I don't know if we learned anything from that performance, if they finally removed it. I also don't know if anyone realized who is allowed to be hanged - and what it depends on.
This wasn't the first time. We often hear about someone hanging a doll in the shape of someone because they didn't particularly like them.

Why did I remember this?
Because this time:
A soldier's doll was found hanging in Mea Shearim Square.
The residents of Mea Shearim liked it. Others not so much.

A country of executioners? - Get a beam out of your eyes!
What we need to say to the executioners is: What is your name? Stop hanging people and deciding who deserves to die and who doesn't.
To others, what needs to be said is: There is no artistic freedom regarding the hanging. Neither here nor there. If there is artistic freedom for one, there is also for the other.
And the state authorities should decide:
What do you think about the hanging?.
Does it depend on 'who is the hanged man?' or does the hanging not depend on anything?
Is hanging a human-shaped doll like her an incitement to murder?
If so, make your position known to the public, and use the presses to their full potential. Deal with all kinds of instigators, through the appropriate agencies, and let the executioners of their various types understand that there is justice and there is justice.
