Degel MKs to Jerusalem Municipality Representatives: "Speak with one voice""

Tonight (Friday night), Degel Hatorah MKs - Moshe Gafni, Uri Maklev and Yaakov Asher - gathered alongside City Council members Eliezer Rauchberger, Yitzhak Pindros, Israel Kellerman and senior figures from the local branch of the Lithuanian Movement, to discuss the ongoing struggle against Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, who, they claim, is trying to harm the rights of the Haredi public in the city, and to make decisions on the course of action, in the face of what they call "the mayor's harassment of the Haredi public in the mixed neighborhoods.". The prevailing feeling in the background is that the war, which is being waged mainly on the pages of the daily Yated Ne'eman, has so far failed to sway the city's top brass, and that the moves need to be better planned.  במהלך האסיפה, העלו הח"כים את הצורך בגיבוש מאבק משותף, תוך אחדות מלאה של כלל הסיעות החרדיות, על מנת שיצלח. לאחר שכל אחד מהדוברים העלה רעיונות, התקבלה החלטה לפיה יש ליישר קו בין החברים, או כפי שח"כ גפני ניסח זאת:  ש"כולם יחד יעבירו את אותם מסרים וידברו בקול אחד". בנוסף, ייעשה מאמץ לרתום ל'קרב' גם את חברי סיעת ש"ס בעירייה, תוך ניסיון לשלב גם את ראשי מפלגת ש"ס הארצית. לדברי אחד מהבכירים שנכח בישיבה, "הוכחנו בבחירות לנשיאות שבאחדות אנחנו מנצחים". אז אמנם בסיבוב ראשון הם היו מאוד לא מאוחדים, אך בסיבוב שני התאחדו והצליחו להביא לבחירתו של רובי ריבלין, שבהחלט מודע לכך. מי שיטפל בכל נושא סגירת המעגלים וביצוע ההחלטה הוא יו"ר הסיעה בעירייה - אליעזר ראוכברג.
