בבית הנשיא נערך היום (ראשון) טקס לזכרם של ראשי ממשלות ונשיאים שהלכו לעולמם. אלא שלפי דיווח בחדשות 2 מתברר: מרכז ההסברה, שאירגן את האירוע, שכח להזמין את הנשיא התשיעי שמעון פרס – שאף היה ראש ממשלה. כמו כן לא הוזמנה לטקס משפחתו של הנשיא יצחק נבון ז"ל, שנפטר לפני מספר חודשים. לאחר בדיקה עם לשכתו של פרס, התברר כי לא הגיעה הזמנה. ממרכז ההסברה נמסר בתגובה לחדשות 2: "זו תקלה, העניין ייבדק ויופקו לקחים". ראש הממשלה בנימין נתניהו נשא באירוע דברים והעלה זכרונות מהיכרותו עם אריאל שרון ז"ל. During the ceremony, President Reuven (Ruby) Rivlin and his wife Nechama presented an award commemorating the memory of the first President Chaim Weizmann to the "Young Historians" program, and an award was also presented for commemorating former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. The ceremony was held in the presence of Supreme Court President Justice Miriam Naor, Deputy Speaker of the Knesset MK Meir Cohen, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, the award recipients and their families.
