Two soldiers serving in Nahal were removed from their posts after posting a photo on Facebook in which they declared that Jews would not be evicted from their homes.

The head of the Defense Ministry's Social Security Division, Amikam Svirsky, met with the two soldiers last night, and after a conversation with them, decided to remove them from the religious Nahal track as well.

The fighters were removed from their positions as fighters in the 50th Battalion, by decision of the commander of the Nahal Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Yehuda Fox. After the removal, Fox recommended to the Ministry of Defense that the two also be removed from the religious Nahal core within which they served in the army. In effect, the two will perform three years of military service, instead of a shortened service of about a year and a half within the core and continued service and civilian missions within the Nahal track.

As a reminder, the two soldiers, along with other soldiers from various units, posted photos on the Facebook page of the 0404 news portal in which they called for the refusal of an order to evacuate communities in Judea and Samaria.

Among other things, the website's Facebook page featured photos with the caption "Nahal Brigade fighters and soldiers are not evacuating Jews" or "3rd Rifle Platoon is not evacuating Givat Assaf.".

The two soldiers in question from Battalion 50 admitted on their own initiative to their commanders that they are different from some of the published photos. The two serve in the Nahal Brigade as part of a religious Nahal unit, within which they served in the army for about a year and a half and for the rest of their service they were supposed to perform civilian missions.

The excessive punishment comes in light of the IDF's intention to combat online protests, after the "David Hanahlawi" protest. The Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz, then addressed the phenomenon severely, saying that Facebook is not a command tool.

As you may recall, about a week ago the two uploaded their photo with the sign to the 0404 news page. Later, the two admitted to the commander that they were the ones taking the photo.
