Rika and Aharon Razel, brothers of singer and songwriter Yonatan Razel, posted a video from the Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center in Jerusalem over the weekend.
In the video, Rika thanked everyone for their interest, concern, and many prayers for the well-being of Jonathan, who is hospitalized after suffering a brain hemorrhage.
In the video, Aharon presented a letter in which he asked to sort out the information that had been published since his brother's hospitalization.
At the beginning of the letter, Aaron wrote: "First of all, a huge thank you for all the prayers, concern and love. It is moving, strengthening and truly unbelievable.".
He referred to the reports about the hospitalization: "It's important for me to clarify first of all: The reports published in the media the other day were a bit exaggerated and blown out of proportion. It was written there that he had suffered a stroke and was in danger of death, which caused unnecessary hysteria. In reality, thank God, the story is calmer.".
Aharon emphasized that, alongside the need for public prayers, Jonathan's condition is stable: "Yonathan does indeed need the prayers of all of us, but his condition is completely stable and he is under good care.".
He later described the sequence of events: "During a performance, Jonathan felt a very strong headache. He thought it was just a migraine. An alert and resourceful paramedic who was on site realized that it required an examination and immediately called an ambulance.".
According to him, at the hospital, "they diagnosed him with a brain hemorrhage. This is a condition in which a blood vessel opens, and the blood that has nowhere to go creates pressure and severe pain.".
Alongside the medical description, Aharon wanted to emphasize the encouraging news for the family. "The great miracle: thanks to the quick and early diagnosis, Jonathan was not harmed at all, thank God!""
He added that Yonatan "is fully conscious, talking, eating, drinking and communicating as usual." He is "hospitalized in the intensive care unit at Shaare Tzedek for close observation and supervision, to ensure that his condition remains stable and normal, and he will probably remain there for observation for at least the next two weeks.".
He explained that he chose to publish the information to avoid having to repeat the details of the event over and over again, but emphasized that he is "available and I would be very happy for you to come forward, be interested, and ask questions.".
He concluded his remarks with a request to continue praying: "Please continue to remember him in your prayers for a complete and speedy recovery: Yonatan Adi Ben Chaya Rachel. Thank you very much for the warm heart and partnership, good news!".
