The Sages tell of a man who prepared a lavish wedding feast for his son and one of the captives he had redeemed, and when it became clear that she had already promised her hand to someone else, he, in consultation with his son, canceled the wedding and dedicated the entire event to the young couple, as if they were his actual descendants.

A story not entirely identical, but with beautiful motifs of love for others, took place in Sacramento, California.

A young couple who were supposed to get married prepared everything necessary, with the bride's family - the Dion family - ordering a luxurious hall and dishes worth a total of $35,000.

But then, a few days before the wedding, the groom announced that he was 'running away.' He wasn't interested in getting married, he didn't want anything to do with the bride anymore, and he'd rather not hear from her anymore. In short: he got cold feet.

So what do we do with the hall, the luxurious dishes, and the colorful napkins?

The Dion family announced that the event will take place as planned, only that instead of guests, all the homeless in the city, lonely people, mentally ill people, and the elderly will be invited.

And indeed, at the appointed time, the guests arrived, enjoyed a sumptuous meal, and congratulated the kind-hearted bride who would soon be married, this time to a more stable and successful man.
