It's finally over.
It wasn't that long, but it was enough that we had to rub our eyes, or rather our ears, that things were indeed happening right under our noses.
Did you guess? Maybe not.
Well, "an ultra-Orthodox singer on... a reality show." Yes, yes, completely real.
Are you done laughing? Let's continue.
But first, a very important note.
Since the writer of the lines does not enter into the experiences of others, in the sense of "Don't judge your friend," and does not pretend to be the one to prove it personally, I will only touch on the point of principle that I want to present, without a personal attack on this or that person.

Really, what do we do?
On the one hand, a person has special talents, abilities, and strengths, which if realized will bring them "satisfaction," "fulfillment," livelihood, and a host of other pleasures.
On the other hand, the profession does not go well with the laws of the Torah.
So first of all, ask. A distinguished teacher with a comprehensive systemic vision will be able to provide halachic solutions of one kind or another to many complicated issues that people encounter in the course of life, at work, and in general.
I knew an advertiser who would consult with his rabbi - a man of great stature - about types of advertisements that might not be in keeping with the spirit of Judaism, relatively speaking, of course.
But... there is a red line!
There are situations in which no reason for 'fulfillment', 'empowerment', 'self-realization', and 'let yourself express yourself' will stand against a clear and unambiguous command of the Torah.
The Torah also knows these qualities of the soul, of realization and empowerment, and the multitude of beautiful words that we use every day, which, by the way, are correct and just, but - within the framework.
And if they are not consistent with the basic laws of the Torah, then this is neither the road nor the city.
Is there something stuck in our throats?
We will choose the appropriate frameworks, and there, and only there, will we give our voice.
