The following video has reached millions of views on YouTube, and probably for good reason: a four-year-old boy fell prey to a rabid dog and was rescued by the family cat.
Jeremy is a four-year-old toddler living in Bakersfield, California, USA. A few days ago, Jeremy was playing with his bike in the parking lot near his house while his mother was busy gardening.
The home's security cameras were activated and recorded a dog sneaking up behind a car and leaping at the boy. The dog sank its teeth into the boy and began to drag him. But then help arrived from an unexpected source: the family cat, named Tara, pounced on the dog, chased him away, and even chased him until he fled the area.
The father, Roger Triantfilo, uploaded the security video online and the story reached all media outlets across the US, such as the BBC, Fox News, and the New York Daily News. The father told the press: "Our cat protected my son during a brutal dog attack and chased the attacker away before he could do any more serious damage. Thanks to that, my son is okay now.".
