At Talmud Torah 'Chaye Olam', located in Shabbat Square in Jerusalem, adjacent to the Mea Shearim neighborhood, the Lag BaOmer celebrations have already begun.

At Talmud Tovara, which is conducted according to the old educational system under the direction of the director, Rabbi Avraham Mintzberg, it is customary to open the Lag BaOmer celebrations the earliest in the world - by lighting a bonfire in the center of the institution's courtyard, combined with singing and dancing.

The reason: All the teachers at Haidar travel to Meron for Lag BaOmer, to bow down to the Rashbi's command. "Since it is not yet Lag BaOmer itself, no musical instruments are brought to Haidar," explains educator Rabbi Asher Gutstein.
