Police officers from the Ma'ale Adumim station and the Gilad Regional Police Department worked with the Civil Administration's supervision unit in the village of Al-Azaria, as part of the fight against illegal waste dumps that constitute a real harm to the quality of life of residents and constitute a serious sanitary hazard.
The police uncovered two illegal landfills that were operated in the village in violation of the law, and upon their discovery, environmental forces have been working since the beginning of the week to neutralize the toxic gases in the landfill areas.
Under the direction of the commander of the Ma'ale Adumim station, Lt. Col. Ilan Rahamim, together with the Civil Administration's supervision unit and in cooperation with the Ma'ale Adumim municipality, forces raided this morning and police arrested a suspect in the operation of the central landfill, a resident of Al-Azaria in his 50s.

In addition, work tools, including tractors, were confiscated, and the infrastructure used to operate the landfills was destroyed.
