They established the tower of light that brought many closer to the Torah of God, and without their work and their privilege, they would not have the privilege of learning and teaching, keeping, and doing.
We must emphasize the greatness of the Rosh Yeshiva, who was wary of the fire of controversy and, when it arose, took upon himself silence. We never heard a word from him.
Maran Rabbi Shach, zt"l, decided at that time to support the representation to the municipality of Bnei Brak, and Rabbi Chaim, zt"l, disagreed and thought differently, there were no two sides.
From that moment on, one side was to listen to the voice of the leader of the generation and the father of yeshiva and leadership in our generation. This is true acceptance of Torah even when he says about the left that he is right...etc.'
Even when the experience is difficult, even when the mind does not understand and the heart is inclined to emotion, you will not deviate from it to the right or to the left.
Often times, in times of heated debate and controversy, it seems that it would have been possible to act differently, but we, as Torah scholars, are commanded to respect the sages, and God forbid we should lay our heads on the rocks.
Strong winds and high waves of crisis are trying to shatter the world of Torah, yearning for controversy and foreign fire. A public sacrifice cannot be offered when the smell of hatred and controversy accompanies it. Even a thought corrupts and invalidates the sacrifice.
The great men of Israel have farsightedness. The merit of the Torah and its study is labor and dedication, with decisions for generations laid out on their table, and we, the lesser of men, cannot understand and sense their moods and see them farsightedly.
But we are certain and certain that the Torah was commanded to us by Moses and handed down to us from generation to generation, and this Torah will not be replaced.
The merit of spreading the Torah and spreading it far and wide, and the establishment of teachers and rabbis who carried its word to the people of the land who were not blessed to be blessed by its light from their birth - will stand on our right hand, and Rabbi Chaim zt"l will be our defender, that we may merit to see together in the light of redemption and stand together in the speedy construction of the Temple.
