On wheels: Among the problems that characterize public transportation in Bnei Brak, there is one interesting problem - one that makes it very difficult for residents.

In the city, two lines, numbered 240, operate on the same route.

One line is operated by Dan, and connects Bnei Brak to Bat Yam. In contrast, the second line, 240, operated by Kavim, connects Bnei Brak to Modiin Elite.

Both lines have stops along Rabbi Akiva and Hazon Ish streets - which causes a lot of confusion, when people mistakenly board a bus in the wrong direction.

Following this, City Secretary Avraham Tenenbaum, at the direction of Mayor Hanoch Seibert, contacted Lassi Susanna, the head of public transportation in the Tel Aviv District at the Ministry of Transportation, and asked him to find a solution to the confusing problem.

Tenenbaum: "Many times, by the time passengers notice the mistake, it is already too late, and this fact causes great suffering and heartache for the erring passengers, including women, children, the elderly and the disabled.

""Following this, the municipality is appealing to the Public Transportation Commissioner at the Ministry of Transportation with an urgent request to find a solution to the issue, and a way to prevent the continuation of this painful problem.".

At the same time, journalist Idan Yosef published today on the NEWS1 website that Afikim, which operates bus lines from Bnei Brak and Ramat Gan to Jerusalem, including line 422, intends to reorganize the lines to improve service.

The company conducted a special survey among passengers on the various lines operated by the company, and studied the various problems on each line, and as a result, they formulated a reorganization and addition of lines for the convenience of passengers.

According to the report, the Ministry of Transportation has already approved most of the new plan.
