Baruch Dayan, the truth teller: At the Hadassah Mount Scopus Medical Center in Jerusalem, the late Rabbi Dov Aharon Zelznik, one of the heads of the Maor Talmud yeshiva in Rehovot, passed away today (Monday), at the age of 81.

In recent months, he fell ill and was hospitalized in serious condition, and was recently transferred to the Herzog Medical Center for rehabilitation. In recent days, his condition deteriorated again, and he passed away, to the dismay of his students.

The late zt"l was born in Jerusalem on the 10th of Elul 5774 to his father, the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Yaakov Zelznik zt"l, head of the 'Etz Chaim' Yeshiva and member of the Council of Torah Scholars, and his mother, Mrs. Ita Basha, may God have mercy on her, the daughter of the Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Shalom Luria zt"l.

As a child, he studied at the Talmud Torah 'Etz Chaim' and the 'Etz Chaim' Yeshiva, and later at the Brisk Yeshiva, where he was a student of the Rosh Yeshiva Gaon Rabbi Yosef Dov Halevi Soloveitchik zt"l.

When he reached his peak, he married his wife, the educator Mrs. Yaffe, director of the Moreshet Beit Yaakov Seminary in Jerusalem, daughter of the late Rabbi Issachar Benedict, one of the first settlers of Bnei Brak, and together they established their home in Bnei Brak. They later moved to Jerusalem.

For decades, he served as one of the heads of the Maor Talmud yeshiva in Rehovot, where he trained many students - and was one of the most prominent heads of yeshiva under the leadership of the Jerusalem faction of the Bnei Torah.

He authored the series of books 'Badi Harun' on the Shas tractates, which were published from his lessons.

He was blessed and left behind a generation of righteous people, many sons and daughters, sons-in-law and descendants who uphold his path. His sons-in-law are the great men of Israel and the heads of the yeshivahs.

The funeral procession will leave at 1:00 PM from his home at 10 Grossberg Street in the Gush 80 neighborhood of Jerusalem, to the Mount of Olives - where he will be buried.
