In joint activities of the police and the Shin Bet: In recent weeks, Yosef Gazawi, an 18-year-old resident of the settlement of Abelin, was arrested for questioning on suspicion of promoting terrorist activity.
His interrogation by the Shin Bet and the police revealed that he planned to carry out an attack in a Jewish community near his residence.
As part of his activities, Gazawi studied and searched for materials on the use of weapons and the preparation of explosives, and even attempted to purchase weapons.
As part of the investigation, various types of ammunition were also seized, which he hid in his home.
The investigation also revealed that Gazawi supports the activities of the Hamas terrorist organization and even sought to carry out missions and attacks on behalf of the organization.
This morning (Monday), an indictment against him and a request to detain him until the end of the proceedings were submitted to the Haifa District Court by Attorney Daniel Koplev of the Haifa District Criminal Prosecutor's Office.
