The cabinet member for political and security affairs, Science Minister Yaakov Perry Mish Atid, said on the program "Meet the Press" on Channel 2 that "the cabinet made a considered decision to stop the talks." At the same time, he added that "Israel has not closed the door" and that "if Hamas renounces terrorism, and the Palestinian government accepts the Quartet's conditions, it would be appropriate to assess the situation differently.".

According to Perry, he did not hope that over the course of nine months "the flowers of peace would bloom," but that Israel had shown great flexibility and the Palestinians had broken promises.

Regarding Hamas, Perry said: "We will not negotiate with a murderous terrorist organization that fires rockets at Israel and does not recognize our existence.".

Perry added and clarified: "Israel intended to hold the fourth strike as well, but the Palestinians prepared a document back in March in which they stated that they intended to go to the international arena. The violation was clearly a Palestinian violation.".

Regarding Yesh Atid's continued presence in Netanyahu's government, Perry refused to comment, clarifying that they would assess the situation later, and that "right now the ball is in the Palestinian court. If it turns out later that it is impossible to conduct negotiations with Palestinian representatives, we will have to consider the issue.".

Regarding the alliance between Yesh Atid and Bayit Hayehudi, Perry surprised everyone by saying that no such alliance exists. "In recent months, an abyss has been dug in the political issue and the issue of religion and state. Neither Bennett nor Ariel - with their delusional and convoluted calls - will determine whether we sit in the government.".

The Jewish Home Party responded to his words: "The left needs to maintain its composure even in times of distress.".
