The IDF asked the police to allocate support forces for proactive operations to arrest ultra-Orthodox deserters - as early as early June.
According to a report by Roy Yanovsky today (Monday) in 'Kan News', the IDF's request is currently being examined by the police's operations department, and discussions are expected on the order of forces required for the operation.
In the past, Commissioner Danny Levy refused to allocate forces for such operations, but a recent High Court decision criticized the police for their lack of enforcement.
The intention to carry out pre-emptive operations was first reported on Radio Kol Barama.
In previous discussions that took place in recent months between the police and the army, police representatives requested approval to mobilize Border Guard companies in reserve during proactive operations in order to prepare for multiple missions.
The requests were then denied.
