A 26-year-old Haredi man, a resident of the city of Ofakim, was arrested this evening (Wednesday) at a gas station between Netivot and Ofakim for evading IDF service.

According to the organization "Giving Gaff," the arrest is causing "great shock throughout all avenues of Haredi Judaism.".

According to the organization's statement, "On the eve of Shavuot, an unusual incident occurred in the Netivot area, after traffic police handed over a dear young man, a resident of Ofakim, to the military police.
