Investigators at the Beit Shemesh police station completed an investigation into an assault incident involving a minor in the city - and today (Monday) a prosecutor's statement was filed against the suspect, in preparation for the filing of an indictment.

The investigation began with a report received from the minor's parents on April 26. According to the complaint, while the minor was waiting at a bus stop, the suspect, who appeared to be ultra-Orthodox, stopped his vehicle and offered him a "ride." The minor got into the suspect's vehicle, and during the ride, the suspect committed serious acts against him.

After the act, the suspect dropped the minor off at his home - and fled the scene.

Investigators at the Beit Shemesh station carried out a variety of rapid investigative actions that led within a few days to the identification and arrest of the suspect.

An examination of the suspect's past shows that he is a criminal who was convicted only last March for particularly serious offenses - and was even sentenced to years in prison.

Despite his conviction and the imposition of a prison sentence against him, the suspect repeatedly committed serious offenses against a helpless minor.

The suspect's detention was extended from time to time in court, and today, upon completion of the formation of an evidentiary infrastructure by police investigators, the Attorney General's Office filed a statement of claim. His detention was extended until Thursday.
