The chairman of the National Security Committee, MK Zvika Fogel of Otzma Yehudit, provided an unusually frank statement in an interview on the B network, when asked about the declaration by his party, along with many MKs and ministers in the coalition, that the High Court ruling would not be upheld if it determined that National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir should be removed from his position.

Seconds after saying that a High Court ruling on the matter would be "illegal" and emphasizing that the prime minister also said he would not respect it, Fogel said in an interview: "None of us intend to disrespect the court.".

Interviewer Ilail Shahar wondered: "What does that mean? To announce in advance before the hearing has begun that you will not respect the court's decision, isn't that disrespecting the court?""

MK Fogel immediately replied to her: "Okay, we also announced in advance that we would defeat all kinds of enemies and in the end we didn't do it. Don't let talk lead you. Let actions lead you. I promise that we will continue to act legally and respect the court even if we disagree with it.".

Fogel added in an interview that in Ben Gvir's place he would not accept "any compromise" on the issue, and emphasized that the minister should say: "Either you get off the tree - or there will be a constitutional crisis.".
