This morning (Friday), preparations began for filming three of the main Memorial Day ceremonies - at the Memorial Hall, the ceremony for victims of hostilities, and the ceremony at the Western Wall - which are expected to be held on Sunday.
Later, following the ceasefire, the recording of the Memorial Day ceremonies was canceled - and they are expected to be broadcast live.
On Sunday, a dress rehearsal for the torch-lighting ceremony will be held on Mount Herzl.
On Tuesday, Kan News reported that Netanyahu requested that all of next week's Memorial Day and Independence Day ceremonies be pre-recorded, due to what was defined as "fear of potential harm.".
Security concerns also accompanied Netanyahu at the beginning of the week, when he initially canceled his participation in the state wreath-laying ceremony to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day due to "fear for his life." The prime minister later retracted his decision and attended the event after his office announced his arrival at the last minute.
The bureau responded at the time: "The ceremony was very short, and therefore his participation was possible.".
