However, it was also stated that "the IDF is prepared for defense and is constantly improving capabilities and operational readiness.".
""We will know how to respond forcefully if necessary. The IDF will do whatever is necessary to protect the citizens of the State of Israel," the IDF statement said.
The office of the chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, MK Boaz Bismuth, announced that he has called a discussion in the Intelligence Subcommittee for this coming Wednesday. The discussion will deal with assessing the situation and the implications of the recent developments in Iran.
