Opposition leader Yair Lapid announced today (Wednesday) the appointment of MK Meir Cohen, 69, to the position of chairman of the Jewish National Fund, on behalf of the Yesh Atid party.

Lapid said: "I congratulate Meir Cohen on his new position. He has been and will always be part of the Yesh Atid family and will assist in organizing the party for the upcoming elections.".

Cohen: "I thank Yair Lapid for his trust and am a great believer in the path of the Yesh Atid party. I will continue to support the party and help Yair lead the next government that will bring change to the people of Israel.".
