The struggle against the draft decree: The Gra Ha-A Salim, a member of Shas' Council of Torah Sages, completely supports the MKs - and sharply attacks the Advocate General and the High Court of Justice.
In a talk he gave to his students at the Maor HaTorah yeshiva, on the eve of his trip to the United States for the Keren Olam HaTorah Foundation, the Gra "A" Salim said:
""There are many yeshiva students who are very angry with the representatives and claim that they are not doing anything," said the yeshiva head. "That is not true! The representatives are trying, I know! Both in the past and today, they are looking for every way to regulate the status of Torah students.".
The head of the yeshiva added: "The Attorney General and the High Court judges are cooperating and fighting in every way. The Attorney General is a contemporary Jezebel and the High Court is Jeroboam ben Nebat. They have joined forces with the left and are persecuting Torah students.".
The Gra Selim addressed the protests and demonstrations and denied the participation of yeshiva students: "The demonstrations and protests, what goes on in the streets, is not helpful, it is harmful! And it completely takes away from learning. When a person gets used to violence, it is not good, it interferes with his personality.
""You have to make an effort, whether it's visiting or talking on the phone, but try as much as possible to follow the rabbis' instructions.".
