Meir Shmuel Leifer, the 18.5-year-old son of Malka Leifer - the principal of the Haredi school who was extradited to Australia for committing serious acts against female students - was arrested early last week, after a complaint was filed against him for committing serious acts against a 10-year-old boy. The police said that the Rosh Ha'ayin police station opened an investigation upon receiving a complaint last week on suspicion of committing a serious act against a minor resident of the city. The investigation has so far revealed that the suspect entered the victim's apartment under some pretext and committed serious acts against him there. Immediately upon receiving the complaint at Rosh Ha'ayin police station, the police station began searches and arrested the suspect - an 18-year-old resident of Elad. At the defense attorney's request, a gag order was imposed on the details of the case, and at the end of the week, the Lod District Court allowed the investigation and the suspect's detention to be published. The suspect's detention has been extended until today, and another hearing will be held in his case, with a request to extend his detention once more. According to Israel Hayom, Leifer's son, who lives in Emmanuel and studies at the Chernobyl Yeshiva in Elad, took advantage of the war to ask for food assistance from a family in the city of Elad. He appeared at their door several times and asked for food. The fourth time, the mother was not present at home, only her ten-year-old son. It is suspected that Leifer's son took advantage of their quiet time together to commit indecent acts. Some of them were recorded. The Australian court sentenced Malka Leifer to 15 years in prison. She will have to serve 11 of them before she can request that her sentence be reduced.
