On Saturday evening, the ZAKA legal department received an urgent request following the death of an 8-day-old baby from the Neve Erez community. The baby was evacuated on Saturday night in critical condition while undergoing resuscitation efforts to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital, where doctors were forced to confirm his death.

After his death, his body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine to investigate the circumstances of the case.

Through the activities of Rabbi Benzi Oering, commander of the Jerusalem District ZAKA, and Gil Bismuth, commander of the Sha'aretz District ZAKA, and with the assistance of the ZAKA legal department, contacts were held with all relevant parties in order to prevent the need for an autopsy. At the end of the procedure, it was decided to settle for a CT scan and the necessary tests, without performing an autopsy.

The baby was released for burial without an autopsy.
