The police reported that officers were called tonight to the scene of a car accident in Jerusalem during which a young man was seriously injured by a passing vehicle.
An initial investigation by the police at the scene revealed that the victim and his friend were walking together on the sidewalk, and they began pushing each other as a prank - until at a certain point the young man fell towards the road, was hit by a passing vehicle and was injured.
Traffic accident investigators from the Jerusalem District Police continue this morning to investigate the circumstances of the accident, and at the same time, the police emphasize the seriousness of the case as it has emerged so far.
""Unnecessary play near a road with passing traffic poses a real danger to life, and this incident tonight could easily have ended in the loss of life," the police say.
