Response to Palestinians: 1,500 new housing units will be marketed in Judea and Samaria and Jerusalem

 Israel resumes building in Judea and Samaria: Two days after the Fatah-Hamas unity government was sworn in, and after a meeting of the political-security cabinet in which Israel's punitive measures were discussed, Housing and Construction Minister Uri Ariel announced last night (Wednesday) that the ministry and the Israel Land Authority will immediately announce the marketing of approximately 1,500 housing units. More than a thousand apartments will be built in localities, mainly in the large blocs, and 400 units will be built in Jerusalem. According to the approved marketing, 223 new apartments will be marketed in Efrat, 484 units in Beitar Illit, 38 units in Geva Binyamin (Adam), 76 units in Ariel, 78 in Alpi Menashe, 155 units in Givat Zeev, of which 55 are in Agan Hayalot, and 400 new apartments in the Ramat Shlomo neighborhood of Jerusalem. השר אורי אריאל מברך על השיווקים החדשים: "אני מברך על ההחלטה לתת תגובה ציונית הולמת להקמת ממשלת הטרור הפלסטינית. זכותה וחובתה של מדינת ישראל לבנות בכל רחבי הארץ כדי להוריד את מחירי הדיור אינה מוטלת בספק ואני מאמין שהשיווקים האלה יהיו רק ההתחלה". בעקבות הודעת משרד השיכון על פרסום מכרזים ל-484 יחידות דיור בביתר עילית, הודה ראש העיר מאיר רובינשטיין לראש הממשלה נתניהו ולשר השיכון אורי אריאל, ואמר: "התחשבות זו של שר השיכון בצרכי המגזר החרדי ראויה לברכה, ומהווה ניצוץ של תקווה לאלפי זוגות צעירים חרדים המשוועים לקורת גג. "בביתר עילית קיימות תכניות מאושרות ליותר מ-5,000 יח"ד, אני קורא לממשלת ישראל לממשן בהקדם, בכדי להקל מסבלו של הציבור החרדי".
